The Novick Lab specializes in understanding how psychosocial elements impact health outcomes using epidemiology and qualitative research methods. We then design, implement and test interventions that address psychosocial elements as part of medical care. Our mission is to identify ways to treat the patient in their environment and improve outcomes for all.

Example interventions include community health worker patient navigation for low income dialysis patients and using acupuncture to treat trauma related emotional distress during dialysis.
